The main cross is easily 12 inches high. The grape leaves at the edges make the overall piece larger than a 12" cross. The picture also does not do the look of this cross justice. The piece is elegant and extremely beautiful. It has a heft to it so should be hung on a stud not just the sheetrock. This heft also makes the piece sturdy. Construction is obviously solid and will last a long time. The painting is done correctly - the purple on the grapes is on the grapes and does not spill over onto the cross or leaves. Often in pieces like this, the colors and the sculpture sort-of match, but on his piece that exactly match.
I purchased this piece for less than $5 and picked up the praying hand cross from a company that rolled up the shipping so the end cost was extremely low. I highly recommend this cross - but if giving this to a Catholic old enough to know the difference - you should know that this is a cross and not a crucifix.
