(More customer reviews)I hadnt visualized the size of the bell! It could be used for a country school bell but its terrific in a sick room! Its 3.75in across and 7" high means EVERYONE will come running! But yes, you can ring it softly too. Seems a terrific value.
The handle is a hardwood, mahogany I think and its coated to protect the brass. Ive had it for over a year and it still looks new. It really is beautiful and it looks great on my desk!
