Ive had mine for at least 3yrs and its like new. Why not? The tealight candles I use dont have soot or burn the paint. I dont bother with votives, my tealights last over 3hrs.
The actual height is 9 inches. With the hanger ring its 10 but I keep mine on my desk. I like the warm glow of the yellow-orange. And theres still not a scratch on it.
Our kids love it too and the lantern is VERY handy in a power outage. I plan to get several more (similar, not identical).
