The knotting is intricate and well done.
The center fan is quite ornate and is decorated on the front with florals and has Chinese symbols in the back of it.
If I had to say what the material the fan reminds me of, the best thing that comes close would be polymer clay.
According to item description, this seems like an ideal gift item to give someone who can put it in their car.
I bought it as a gift for someone with that exact intention, for them to use it in their car.
However, when I went to write the review today it seems they are currently sold out.
If this item comes back, and you are looking for something Chinese to hang in the rear view mirror or some place else in the car, definitely consider this piece.
I am sure it would be just as nice in a cubicle or workstation.
