(More customer reviews)I looked into the levitating globes and chose this instead. It doesn't levitate, but its slow rotation, without batteries, is soothing and fascinating. It just keeps spinning with no intervention...just like the real Earth! It is too small to use as a reference globe, but it is a fine size for a desk ornament. It takes some thinking to figure out how it could possibly work, thus it makes a good conversation piece.
I liked mine so much that I ordered one as a Christmas gift for a tech-savvy friend. He appreciated his as much as I did mine.
