I bought this set of small southwest vases for a study I have that has western/native American decor. I have to admit upfront that I didn't expect much for the price I paid. I figured that for what Amazon was asking for them, I could not go wrong considering they were planned for display only, on a bookshelf perhaps. I was pleasantly surprised on their arrival to find their artwork to be very handsome and well done indeed, along with being very solidly built. They are rather thick and heavy. Not at all cheap and fragile in the least. Most of all I was very pleased with their finish being of a rough matte, true hand made pottery style. Rather than a cheap glossy finish like the glare visible in the picture suggest. These vases are not only well worth the price they are going for here, but in my opinion qualify as a true bargain. I could easily imagine them going for $10 a piece or more in any one of those fancy native American or southwest style gift shops. I have the three of them clearly visible on a desk and on shelves in my study, and have received several compliments on them. I would consider them a little too small for any use other than display. But if you, or someone you know enjoys collecting native American decor, I highly recommended these finely made, handsomely hand painted vases. They would make a nice addition to any study or collection, and would also make a very fine gift as well...
